Is it an oak or an ash? Without leaves, it may be hard to distinguish trees in winter. Enhance your winter forest forays and impress your friends with tree identification knowledge. Join Tim Fleury, UNH Cooperative Extension Forester, at the WCA Red Barn for a short slide show followed by a walk outdoors to learn how to ID trees by buds, twigs and bark. He also will discuss the trees from an ecological and economic perspective. Prepare for an outdoor experience and dress for winter weather and snow conditions. Unless weather is extreme, this program will take place snow or shine. The WCA is a not-for-profit organization. It offers free and low-cost events throughout the year. The Association owns and operates two facilities in Wilmot – the Red Barn, a community center on Village Road, and Timmy Patten Park, a beach and playground on Shindagan Road.
