Description
Found puppy in The Meadows at Country Creek subdivision off Hammond Blvd. Skinny, no collar, very likely a dropoff. All too common in this area, but it's possible he could be a runaway.
Probably no more than 7 months old, appears to be neutered, approximately 35 pounds. Small paws. One brown eye, one lighter colored. Brown patches over both eyes, one large patch at base of tail, small brown hound-like "ticking" (freckling) over whole body. Very slim and tapered in the back. Extremely friendly and wiggly! Wants to be held and in your lap.
Best guess is some kind of hound, American Staffordshire Terrier mix? Possibly some Jack Russell Terrier in there somewhere? And who knows where that different colored eye came from - maybe even Australian Cattle Dog or Catahoula Leopard Dog back down the line? 🤷
Going out of town tomorrow afternoon. Would anyone be able to take him at least for a few days? (Maybe even take him to check if he's chipped and someone wants him back, or was chipped if he came from a shelter originally?) Will be back this weekend if his owner is not found, and will take him back and may be able to foster temporarily until a new home is found. We don't want to take him to a shelter since they're already overcrowded - not even sure they're taking new dogs currently?
If you are the owner or can help out, please contact the number listed - text is preferred.
