Novices to seasoned backcountry users, build a skill set or refresh knowledge that will help you be self-sufficient in the mountains. The evening curriculum will provide an overview on risk management, terrain management, and route-finding related to ski and splitboard mountaineering from ACMG certified guide, Solveig Waterfall. We will also have snacks and drinks for you to enjoy while you're learning some essential new skills for the winter ahead. Ticket price includes swag bag, all of your drinks and snacks for the evening, raffle ticket, and a SheJumps Alpine Development School workbook to take away and use throughout the season. Doors open: 7:00pm School starts: 7:30pm More about Alpine Development School: The Alpine Development School is a women's lecture program created by the nonprofit SheJumps. ADS provides an overview on risk management, terrain management, and route-finding related to ski and splitboard mountaineering. From novices to seasoned backcountry users, the ADS is an opportunity to build a skill set or refresh knowledge that will help you be self-sufficient in the mountains. The ADS curriculum is drawn from the SheJumps Alpine Finishing School, an award-winning 7-day ski and splitboard mountaineering course held annually at the Selkirk Lodge in British Columbia. All participants attending this event must agree to the SheJumps COVID of Conduct. --- SheJumps increases the participation of women and girls in outdoor activities to foster confidence, leadership, and connection to nature and community through free and low-cost outdoor education.
