JOB PURPOSE / SUMMARY The Shop Maintenance Associate assists the Shop Foreman with the upkeep of the Hackensack Maintenance shop area and the yard ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Empty trash receptacles and move expired parts to scrap bins Move and organize tires, steel stock and misc. company owned parts Mop, sweep and clean various works areas within the shop Assist mechanics, welders, and body shop with holding tools or getting supplies. Organize and properly store shop equipment (Jack stands, jacks, tools, chains, and binders (list is not meant to be comprehensive) Assist with special projects as assigned by Shop Foreman SOFT SKILLS Organizational skills Team player MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Ability to use Microsoft and Apple computer systems and applications Ability to operate small equipment such as a forklift PHYSICAL DEMANDS Ability to work in a shop environment involving the use of heavy and mechanical equipment Ability to lift heavy objects 75 lbs. or more occasionally and a minimum of 50 lbs. frequently Ability to bend, stand, carry, stoop, kneel and reach frequently Ability to work on the ground using creepers or mats while reaching or holding objects for various periods of time Ability to work in different weather conditions Ability to push and pull various weights Ability to reach and work overhead for various lengths of time
