Local private island located off of Woods Hole seeks a general laborer. This position is a physical position and work is outdoors. It includes trash pickup, equipment maintenance, lawn mowing, weed whacking, tractor mowing, working with chainsaw, firewood deliveries and other outdoor projects. There is not a firm job description. This position changes daily depending on circumstances, weather and emergencies. Candidate will report to the department manager, must be able to follow directions, work both independently and with others, lift over 50 pounds. Experience with driving a tractor and use of chainsaw preferred but willing to train the right candidate. Job requires residing on premises, this is not a commuting position. 7:30 am-4:00 pm, 40 hours per week Thursday to Monday. Days off are Tuesday and Wednesday. The position comes with a one-bedroom apartment that includes heat, electricity, telephone, laundry facilities and internet. Benefits include 70% company paid Medical and 50% company paid Dental, 401k after 1 year, paid vacation 2 weeks up to 4 weeks after year 5, sick time and personal days.
