Create an Out-of-this-World Experiential Social Campaign Lessons and Learnings from the Artemis I Launch Kathryn Weast and Lainie Harber will share about their recent on-site social media and community engagement campaign to support the Artemis I launch, the first in a series of increasingly complex missions. The Artemis I is an uncrewed flight test of NASA’s Orion spacecraft capsule atop the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket. NASA’s Artemis Program aims to land the first woman and the first person of color on the moon and establish sustainable exploration in preparation for missions to Mars. The duo from Jacobs will offer insight from their experiences on: Tag-team nature of working the event Clear understanding of “brand voice” for each channel – and how they are different or similar Pre-event toolkit and storyboard + Dos and Don’ts Guide Capturing evergreen content Bios: Lainie Harber Lainie Harber has a passion for creative storytelling. As a Communications Project Manager at Jacobs, she has the opportunity to tell stories highlighting how the company addresses the most complex and important challenges of today. In her role as a PM, no two weeks are the same, and she loves meeting new people and learning new things about the company and the solutions it provides. Recent projects include Jacobs STEAM education and engagement program, Artemis I Launch support, Square One communications database creation and various executive leadership communication campaigns. Lainie has been an IABC member since 2018 and truly values the expertise and commitment of the organization. Lainie is a Kansas girl and earned her Master of Journalism and Strategic Communication from the University of Kansas in 2013. In her spare time, Lainie likes to travel, cook and have adventures with her husband, Scott, her son, Max, and their Australian Shepherd, Marlow. Kathryn Weast Combining a love of writing and connecting people to tell Jacobs’ brand stories globally, Kathryn Weast leads Jacobs’ corporate social media and website efforts. Before returning to her marketing roots, Kathryn worked in the company’s inside sales organization as proposal development, as a technical writer and proposal coordinator focused primarily on the transportation, nuclear and water business markets. Before joining Jacobs nearly nine years ago, she served as a marketing and education specialist for a non-profit organization. Kathryn holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications with a dual emphasis in Public Relations and Journalism and a minor in Spanish from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. She lives in Milwaukee with her 3-year-old springer spaniel, Ziggy, and enjoys kayaking, tackling her to-be-read list and volunteering as a coach for Special Olympics.
