Come join Ascent & BCAG for a night to kick back and talk about terrain choices in the backcountry! Your L1 was one, or a million, seasons ago and you want to refresh your avalanche brain! Come and review how to use NWAC forecasts to identify where the terrain has the greatest exposure to various avalanche problems and how to select your tours from the ATES ratings using existing guidebooks and maps. By looking at and using local weather stations, we will be able to better understand trends as they relate to the changes, for better or worse, in the avalanche hazard rating and avalanche problems.
