Description
Hi, I am very concerned that we will not be able to buy our two young daughters anything for Christmas this year. My husband was laid off on 10/2 and is still waiting on his first reemployment check while actively seeking work. Meanwhile I am legally disabled and unable to work besides small odd jobs I can find here and there.
My children are nearly-3 and five. Although 2 years old sounds too young to care, my toddler loves to tell me about "Candy, toys, presents!" Christmas is a very big deal to both of them, and I'm worried that they will feel undeserving or "bad" if Santa skips over them. We definitely want to take them to senior living/hospice to have a more meaningful Christmas, but we'd also hoped for a couple gifts for each of them. Eleanor has asked all year for a Little Live Pets Mama Surprise and a Gabby's Dollhouse. Alice LOVES Dora the Explorer, balls, and anything on wheels! Ellie loves the frillier stuff, while Alice is very much a tomboy who prefers toys from both aisles. I dream of a little train track to display in front of a Christmas tree (if we can end up getting a tree at all) beside a little reindeer rocking chair.
One last thing I'm worried about is finding shoes to fit their feet this winter. They grow so fast! Eleanor wears size 11 boots/dress shoes/socks/stockings, while Alice wears size 7.
Anything you can donate or spare would be so treasured and cared for. We could also swap some used toys for used toys.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
