Join El Paso County, in partnership with the El Paso Community Foundation, City of Socorro, and Pat Taylor, regional preservation contractor, on a tour of Rio Vista Farm, and discussions on the various phases and stages of disrepair of the original adobe complex that served as the Poor People's Farm and as a Bracero processing Center.
Mr. Taylor will address the dynamics of adobe repair, and the need for permeability within earthen structures. Topics of common problems of modern interventions such as cement on adobe plaster, and how to address them will also be covered.
Property owners, contractors, and members of the community are encouraged to attend.
