Engel, who garnered a James Beard Rising Star Chef Award during his formative stint at Shaya, is the chef/partner of the Michelin-starred Galit in Chicago, where he has all but cornered the market (and considerably raised the bar) when it comes to crafting modern interpretations of traditional Israeli dishes. Who better to pair him with than Zak Stern, Miami’s resident mensch and a 2022 James Beard finalist whose long-adored Zak the Baker recently received MICHELIN Guide’s prestigious Bib Gourmand status?!
