Description

Before they were banned by the federal government in 1973, research on psychedelics showed they were remarkably effective at treating depression, addiction, and trauma. They're making a comeback in recent years with major research efforts underway at large pharmaceutical companies (Novartis), top tier universities (Johns Hopkins), and federal agencies such as the Veterans Administration. Jesse Gould is Founder and President of the Heroic Hearts Project, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit pioneering psychedelic therapies for military veterans. After being deployed as an Army Ranger in Afghanistan three times, he founded the Heroic Hearts Project in 2017 to spearhead the acceptance and use of ayahuasca therapy as a means of addressing the current mental health crisis among veterans. As we kick of the 2023 Infinite Possibilities slate, come hear Jesse speak about the latest research on psychedelics and how they offer a chance to address some of America's most intractable mental health issues, both in and out of the veteran population. Event Schedule: 5-6 pm: Cocktail Hour + Networking6-7:30 pm: Speaker + Q&ALaunchCLT (formerly LaunchLKN) Formed in 2017, LaunchCLT is connecting founders and mentors to catalyze a viable, sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystem in the greater Charlotte region.
