Sam’s music is intimate, intricate, and lush in lyrical imagery with seemingly as much influence from music as poetry and literature. This mixed with the support of his band brings a sound both invitingly familiar and completely fresh, invoking the attention to lyrical and instrumental detail from yesteryear while blending in modern sensibilities and feel. The band is comprised of Sam Small on lead vocals and guitar, Nigel Wilson on keyboards and synthesizers, Wayne Whittaker on bass, Burleigh Drummond on drums and harmony vocals, and John Would on guitar and lap steel. PIGEON CLUB Pigeon Club is the music of Wayne Whittaker, a musician and songwriter in Los Angeles. An accomplished multi-instrumentalist, Whittaker primarily considers himself to be a bass player, a role he’s held as both a gun-for-hire and collaborator in studios and on stages around the world. Pigeon Club’s debut record was released in 2021, and a follow-up is expected in 2023.
