Description
Let start a bluegrass jam group! From beginners to intermediate, or even advanced pickers. If we can get even a half dozen folks around to play some tunes on a weekly basis it might be possible to find a coffee shop to then let us hang out and stay warm. I think a good first step is to see if anyone is wanting to jam, then go from there finding a location (I'm willing to make some calls around town)
We need banjos, mandos, fiddles, pickers, bass players of all abilities!
Fiddle tunes, bluegrass, folk, trad country, gospel or Americana..... Pretty much any country type of music would be welcome.
A little about myself, I'm 37 and have been playing bluegrass and studying music theory for a solid year and a half. I have been under the wing of a three time state flatpicking champ for nine of those months and I'm at the point that I'd like to play actual bluegrass with other musicians and help start some type of parking lot pickers group.... I am really hoping there are more bluegrassers out there trying to find somewhere to get out and just strum a song or two (or twenty) with like minded folks.
If you're interested please reply by email, I'll keep a close eye out.... If we get enough people there are some forums we can use to stay in touch and get organized.
*Super important, if you are still drinkin and druggin please don't apply.... Ain't nobody got time for that. Looking for good clean fun out in public places and don't want a bad rap
