I do recommend they be adopted in male/female pairs. Or 1 Male 2 Female trios. Or groups of many females and few males. These are a smaller tropical fish so they need to be in a heated tank. You need a tank of nothing but guppies, or they need to have tank neighbors who will get along with them, and who will not eat them. They can live in community tanks, if the tank is big enough and has enough hiding places & artificial plants or live plants. You will of course have many less babies that will survive to adulthood in a community tanks/ vs. an only guppy tank. ( please Google fish that can live with guppies) If you keeping only guppies in your tank, I'd would recommend you have no smaller then a 10 to 20 gallon tank or you too will have a massive population explosion too! can be used for chinchillas rats hamsters guinea pigs etc.:) I am a tabby with a Snow White belly kitten Now 7 weeks old.
