• Before 1848, the land now "invaded" WAS Mexico. We stole it from them. • From 1848 until ≈ 1980, Mexicans freely had entry into our land, back and forth. It was seasonal, migration we called it. Impoverished, hardworking souls did the back breaking farm work Americans were not willing to do. Rich, mostly "Christian," conservative farm workers used them for cheap labor, cheated them of wages, beat them, sexually assaulted them, even murdered them without impunity. The migrants knew if they complained, they would be deported, thus them and their families starving. • We have a myth promoted by the ignorant, that illegals somehow get "free stuff." For years, I have proposed a challenge on this board. Rid yourself of all forms of identification. Go forth from your residence with only the cloths on your back. After a week or two when you are ripe, go get some of this "free stuff" and demonstrate how it is done. Ha! • Here's a thought. If you are adamantly against migration from the south, then pass laws that the rich who hire them and still continue to cheat them be charged with life felonies. Poof! Problem solved overnight.
