Description

Located in the Fireside Room at North Seattle Church* The elections are over – now, we want to “dish” about how we’re all staying engaged during 2023. We consider hope to be a practice – a muscle. That hope gets stronger as it's used. We'll share thoughts about incorporating civic action into our practice of hope. Come to cook up ideas. Music, poetry, and readings will help you get inspired. We'll all have time to dish about what we're doing, what we want to do, what gets in the way, and what gets us fired up to live like citizens! And it's a potluck, so if you’d like, bring a brunch-y food item to share. We’ll supply the beverages (coffee, tea, cocoa, water) and plates/napkins/forks. As your first Civic action of the day, feel free to bring packaged snacks or other items (clothes, hand warmers, raincoats, tents, sleeping bags) to help Facing Homelessness, a Seattle-based non-profit, make the winter a little bit easier for our unhoused neighbors. We'll collect the contributions and bring them to the Window of Kindness. For more about Facing Homelessness and its programs please see: https://facinghomelessness.org/ *Like all Civic Saturdays, this gathering is secular and nonpartisan. In the spirit of civic fellowship, North Seattle Church has kindly waived rental fees for our use of the Fireside Room for this event.
