The practice of Ayurveda teaches us that we are made up of the same 5 elements as nature. Each element possesses unique qualities, and every human has a unique combination of these elements, or dosa’s, which make up their individual constitution. In order to stay in balance, we must live in harmony with nature which includes understanding how to flow with the change of the seasons for optimal health, balance, and alignment.
Vata dosa is comprised of air and space. As we transition from Fall into Winter Vata can become aggravated and imbalanced. A seasonal regime can help to ease this transition.
This workshop will provide a basic understanding of Ayurveda and the Dosa’s, helping you to begin to explore what qualities dominate your make up so that when provoked, you will have the awareness and understanding on how to regain balance.
We will begin with an introduction into Ayurveda and the dosa’s. We will discuss how the dosa’s are affected by the seasons focusing on the transition from Fall into Winter, discussing self-care practices and healthy habits, food choices and rituals that can be implemented to maintain balance and increase energy, focus and overall wellbeing. Handouts and journals will be provided.
Next, you will be led through a grounding yoga flow, focusing on vata balancing postures and breathwork, ending with a guided relaxation & meditation practice.
We will send you off with a vata balancing snack & juice to replenish and re-energize your mind and body, along with a mantra to infuse a sense of peacefulness, ease, and excitement as we transition into the winter months and holiday season.
