The laughter is coming to Owego when Homebrewed Comedy hits the stage at the John Barleycorn on Wednesday, Dec. 21. Justin Jackson is headlining the show and Mathew Snover and Jason Zongrone are joining host Mike Peters. The show starts at 7:30 p.m., and there's a recommended $5 donation at the door, which opens at 7. Come out and enjoy the show. About the comedians: Mike Peters, a Binghamton comedian, specializes in self-deprecating, observational humor. A contributor for Funny or Die, Peters is the founder of Homebrewed Comedy. He hosts at the Syracuse Funny Bone and Wise Crackers in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., won the Utica Brews Laugh Contest and Uptown Roast Battle and opened for Super Troopers’ Rabbit, Erik Stolhanske and Gilbert Gottfried. Peters produces shows all over New York and hosts his weekly podcasts, On the Mic with Mike Peters and It’s About Time: A Sopranos Watch Podcast. Jason Zongrone started doing stand-up in Utica, N.Y., in 2019. A member of Bus Stop Robot, the house improv team at the Uptown Theatre of Creative Arts, Zongrone animated a music video, “I’ll Be Home for Chanukah,” which was featured in WIBX 950s 2020 Christmas special. Mathew Snover grew up in the Binghamton area and moved to New York City to pursue a career in acting when he found a home on a different stage. He’s been doing stand-up in the city since 2015 and is a regular at the Eastville Comedy Club, where he entertains audiences with his self-deprecating, observational humor. A regular at clubs all over the city, Snover produces shows with Mayhem Comedy Inc. Justin Jackson is one of the strongest comedians in the Syracuse area. A regular host at the Funny Bone, Jackson performed at the Cape Fear Comedy Festival in Wilmington, N.C., hosted the 2019 Binghamton Comedy Crawl and has worked in Michigan and South Carolina. During his circuitous journey across the country, Jackson has delighted audiences all over with his clever takes on the world around him. He’s also a co-host of The Numero Uno Show with Abdul Hadi.
