If you love painting the beauty of the season in watercolors, you will enjoy painting a winter cardinal scene to have on your wall, offer as a gift and perhaps even make your own holiday cards with. This session we will paint a snow rural scene in watercolors with all the lovely aspects of watercolors - letting the paint and paper do the work for you. Join me and find out the inner painter in you! Jan is passionate about watercolors. One look at her paintings tells you are looking at the work of a fine artist who is capable of capturing the essence and beauty in diverse subjects - flowers, landscapes, still life vignettes and portraits - people and pets. Jan has been featured in Newsday, and her work has been showcased in Creations Magazine, as well as commissioned by organizations to fuel their fundraising efforts and to adorn marketing materials. She teaches on-line via Zoom and in-person at the Huntington Arts Council. Contact her directly if you are interested in knowing more about her classes. Materials & SuppliesOption 1: If you've previously taken a watercolor class with Jan or elsewhere, feel free to bring those supplies with you (paints, watercolor paper, water bowl, small & large brushes) The materials needed are: 2 sheets of Arches 140lb cold press paper - 9x12 (or a pad or block), pencil, paint brushes (#10, 16-20 and a #1 rigger) Daniel Smith tube paints Moonglow, Shadow Violet, warm and/or deep Red, (any) yellow, Cobalt or Ultramarine blue, table salt, old toothbrush, and Pebeo masking fluid. (If you have other professional paints like Holbein, Windsor Newton, etc, you do not have to buy Daniel Smith paints with the exception of Moonglow and or Shadow Violet.) Option 2: Jan will have materials kits available for $15 for anyone who does not have the supplies listed below. The $15 is to be collected in cash, by Jan, at the beginning of class.*Please note: The materials listed are very specific to obtain the result we are looking to achieve. If you use inferior paints and or paper you will not get the results I will be demonstrating.
