Description
The 10th annual Minneapolis PARTNERS with Youth Conference brings together youth work professionals across the city to share strategies on building relationships with strong foundations and creating affirming spaces for youth. We'll highlight some of the ways youth workers can positively support a young person’s mental health and build a foundation for ongoing learning and community-wide resource sharing. This year’s conference theme is Youth Mental Health: how youth workers can support a young person’s mental health (YMH).
We have invited Brandon Jones to be this year's keynote speaker. Brandon is the Minnesota Association for Children’s Mental Health Executive Director &
consultant. He specializes in Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), Historical and Intergenerational trauma, Social/Emotional Intelligence (EQ), Leadership, and Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI). He will lead a training that explores the link between historical, intergenerational, and current trauma-related issues in our communities. Participants will understand the connection between trauma, Mental Health, and contemporary challenges in social justice. We will discuss practical, culturally intelligent, trauma-responsive strategies to keep our work moving forward within our society.
