Description
Hi I’m James Fredrickson. I’m a FAVS major and Photo minor at George Mason. For my GMU documentary photography class’ final project I’m looking for people that have worked retail / underpaid service industry jobs within the last 2 years (or currently) and didn’t like it and felt underpaid and are comfortable letting me take a portrait of them outside of the establishment (it doesn’t have to be the exact location you worked at if it’s a chain, it’s up to you). Also if you are comfortable with it possibly hold up a small paper sign that says the $ per hour number you were paid. The goal is to bring more awareness and discussion about Virginia’s minimum wage.
Happy to take a few regular portraits for you in exchange for helping with this! You also will be compensated $20 cash. The photoshoot itself would take no more than 30-45 mins. Thank you!
