December 10th - International Human Rights Day, United For Human Rights will hold an Open House to commemorate a day dedicated to commemorate the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Former First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt, was a key participant in drafting this monumental document which proclaims the inalienable rights that everyone is entitled to as a human being – regardless of race, color, religion, sex, language, or national origin. Thus, Human Rights Day marks the occasion to gather leaders, like-minded groups, educators and friends to acknowledge the work done so far and reaffirm our joint commitment to make human rights a reality. Guest Speakers include- Imam Muhammed Shoayb Mehtar - Religious and Interfaith Director of the Islamic Center of Conejo Valley Venerable Thepo Tulku Rinpoche - Co-Founder of the Tibetan Association of Southern California, Buddhist Lama, Human Rights Activists Nanci Martin - United Nations Association Education Director and Human Rights Advocate Come hear how local community leaders are fighting human rights abuses and eradicating abuses through education. ALL ARE WELCOME United for Human Rights (UHR) is an international, not-for-profit organization dedicated to implementing the Universal Declaration of Human Rights at local, regional, national and international levels. Its membership is comprised of individuals, educators and groups throughout the world who are actively forwarding the knowledge and protection of human rights by and for all Mankind.
