(SE HABLA ESPAÑOL) Congregation Micah, a Reform Jewish synagogue, is currently seeking a kind, intelligent, intuitive, and motivated Facility Technician. This person is responsible for the care and maintenance of Congregation Micah’s grounds and facilities. This includes custodial work, event coordination, setups, and building maintenance. Responsibilities: Set-up and clean-up of events and building functions Regularly inspect synagogue premises for areas of concern Assist and oversee the coordination of volunteers and contracted professionals Perform custodial care, maintenance, manage grounds, building operations, and mechanical systems Interfacing with membership, professional staff, and volunteer workers in a friendly, service-oriented manner Coordinate maintenance of plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems If necessary, coordinate with outside vendors to facilitate repairs Oversee event planning and event execution Vendor management Ensure compliance with and implementation of facility policies Organize and maintain maintenance and custodial records Keep the facilities clean, well-maintained, and attractive, inside and out Procure building supplies to maintain facilities - keeping inventory of all synagogue equipment/supplies and stored in appropriate areas Assist in synagogue and preschool projects as needed Assist with the administration of our small but beautiful cemetery Maintain the cleanliness of social halls, worship spaces, classrooms, hallways, restrooms, corridors, and other work areas Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage Other duties as assigned Experience: At least 2 to 5 years work experience in at least one of the following: Facilities management Event planning Custodial services Skills: Multi-tasking; Leadership; General knowledge of maintenance and custodial care Self-Motivation; Attention-to-detail; Organization Must be customer service oriented Ability to work with common tools Strong communication skills; Computer use Ability to work with minimal supervision Respect for Jewish Practices, including the Shabbat and other holiday observances Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the Facility Technician is frequently required to walk, stand, sit, talk, and hear. The employee is also required to use hands to handle and operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with arms and hands. Technician is also required to sometimes climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Schedule: Generally Wednesday through Sunday (Mondays and Tuesdays are typically the days off for this position) - Some evening work is required based on our programming and building needs) Benefits: Full-time position with health insurance, paid time off, holidays, and other benefits NO PHONE CALLS.
