Anne Arundel School Board Will Discuss Priorities With Lawmakers

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — The Anne Arundel County Board of Education will meet with elected officials Monday morning. They'll discuss the school system's legislative priorities days before lawmakers return to Annapolis. Legislative session starts on Wednesday. It ends April 12. The meeting is part of Anne Arundel County Public Schools' first-ever Legislative Breakfast. Representatives of the county and the city of Annapolis will attend the event, which starts at 7:30 a.m. The school board will also attend a virtual retreat this Saturday. Members will focus on team building and problem-solving. They'll also take a look at the Board Handbook and the work expected over the next year. The Maryland Association of Boards of Education will facilitate the retreat, which lasts from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The retreat and the breakfast will be livestreamed on the AACPS YouTube channel.
