Need help finishing a Knitted blanket

Hello, I have an elderly friend whose wife recently passed away, she was working on a blanket at the time of her passing (knitted or crochet I’m not sure) I was given this blanket to work on and wanted to finish it and give it to him as a gift. I have no idea how to do this and definitely do not want to ruin all the hard work she put into making it. I am asking for someone who has experience with knitting/ crocheting to finish this blanket for him. It already has the needles, yarn, and looks like it’s almost complete.
