SHIFT: Monday-Thursday, 5 am-3:30 pm (OT Fri/Sat as needed) Salary based on experience - $19 - $25/hr. starting Role Summary: First-level supervisor role with the opportunity to grow your supervisor skills. Role supports assembly line production in our Assembly/Pack Department. This position will work with floor Area Leader supervisors to maximize assembly line production activities throughout the shift. Individuals will provide training, mentoring, and production line support across several assembly lines. Essential Job Duties: 1. Be a safety champion for all team members within the organization 2. Train, supervise, assist, and organize team members on assembly lines to maximize production throughout while maintaining a high level of quality 3. Completes material movement transactions in the computer system accurately and timely 4. Responsible for communicating to team members - safety, teamwork, quality, delivery, and cost metrics at shift start-up meetings and throughout the shift 5. Responsible to analyze workflow and work processes to continually improve throughput 6. Ensures all work is performed using up-to-date standard work processes 7. Assists with the manufacturing support group to maintain up-to-date written work processes/standard work 8. Actively participates in cross-functional continuous improvement activities 9. Carries out other duties as assigned or necessary to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of the role Core Physical Requirements: Standing and walking on hard surfaces (frequent) Reaching/pulling/twisting/bending at the waist (frequent) Sitting (infrequent) Climbing stairs (infrequent) Using fingers/hands to operate computer keyboard (frequent) Lifting requirement: 50 lbs. without assistance. Environmental Requirements: Office (5%)– climate controlled. Plant (95%) – not climate controlled; Noise levels in the plant may require the use of hearing protection. High School Diploma/GED - preferably some college with emphasis in industrial or manufacturing 2. Lean manufacturing is a plus Work Experience: 1. Minimum 1 year at the assistant supervisor or team leader role 2. Minimum 4 years in manufacturing 3. Assembly and/or packing work experience desired Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Personal Attributes: 1. Possess an eye for improvement and an ability to work to make positive changes 2. Strong people skills with the desire to coach and train others 3. Strong problem-solving skills 4. Proactive and likes to roll up your sleeve to get things done 5. Good communicator 6. Professional and ethical 7. Forklift certification preferred or ability to successfully pass a forklift training program 8. Strong commitment to safety 9. Team player 10.
