1-Day Workshop Date: Saturday, December 3, 2022 Time: 10am-5pm Description: In this workshop, students will learn how to make a mouse on a slice of cheese that is made of wood. Making this piece involves using a range of woodworking techniques, with an emphasis on turning and power carving. Students must be at least familiar with spindle & bowl turning techniques. Tuition: $120 + $15 materials fee Materials: All materials will be provided Metals will be provided to complete pieces. Location: Contemporary Craft (5645 Butler St., Pittsburgh, PA 15201) COVID-19: In accordance with current CDC guidance - we are recommending all visitors wear a mask. Please note that the recommendation applies to teaching artists, resident artists, students and guests attending events taking place at CC. Cancellations and Refunds: Workshop cancellations are decided three business days before the start date. If workshops must be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, the entire class fee will be refunded through Eventbrite, or you may leave your workshop fee in your Contemporary Craft account for future workshops. Refund Policy: Student refund requests must be made at least three business days before a class begins. There will be a $25 cancellation fee. No refunds will be given without three-business days notice. Processing of refunds takes approximately three weeks. About the Artist From a young age, I have been fascinated with wood. Over the years I have experimented with all forms of woodworking: turning, carving, veneer work, cabinetry, traditional woodwork, millworking, furniture making, and finishing. I am a custom commercial cabinet maker by trade, and the current Chairman of Turners Anonymous (the oldest woodturning organization in Pittsburgh, PA). Today, I tailor my skills to create unique pieces for clients and I continue to find new ways to test my skills and creativity to design new works of art.
