Press release from the City of Iowa City: January 08, 2021 On Thursday, Jan. 7, 2021, the Governor extended the State's COVID-19 Public Health Emergency Declaration. The Declaration extended most in-place health mitigation efforts through Saturday, Feb. 6, 2021. In-place health mitigation steps include masks for indoor public spaces. One change in the Governor's latest order includes lifting the limits of spectators for sporting and recreational gatherings, including for high school-sponsored events, but not college or professional sporting events.
