Description
Mature Guitarist, Porchboard Bass seek percussion. Vox could be an option, though have been performing this concept instrumentally w/backtracks. This could be as simple as a tambourine or cajon.
Porchboards, made in Janesville, are uncommon here. Most are sold in Europe. Please see https://www.porchboard.com/ or talk to me or Porchboard Paul (contact info at web) if you want to know more. Here's a review of 2013 Porchboard model - the current version is performs better: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tfOanqSembQ
It would be possible to flush this out as a larger band, though my experience is it can be a mistake before rhythm section is in place. Another player that can do the tambourine/cajon between the other instrument(s) vox may work. I try to be flexible and do what is feasible.
Keyboards, bassist, or others are welcome to contact me. My main goal is to keep guitar chops up over winter and potentially develop a concept if no bass or keys covering bass are available. I do have specialty guitars that can cover bass too.
My priority is: Good Music with simple enough instrumentation that we can coordinate schedules and play out competitively because we are creating a band sound with potentially as few as 2 people.
Not likely you have seen a Porchboard in WI or Northern IL, so may be best to just get together so you can hear this (w/the backtracks I use or you supplementing the sound. Most are sold for solo performances, which I could do, but prefer the fuller sound of backtracks when I play solo.
