Children’s Holiday Tea Party at The Nonantum

This magical holday tea party for children and adults will be held at the beautiful Nonantum Resort in Kennebunkport as part of the annual Prelude celebration. We will serve traditional afternoon tea, with a menu geared toward the younger set. Mrs. Claus will be making a special guest appearance and will be available for photo opportunities! This event will raise funds for The Community Gourmet, a grassroots nonprofit that addresses food insecurity in Southern Maine by creating shelf-stable meal kits that are distributed at local food pantries. Each kits provides ingredients for make at least 14 servings of healthy food, as well as recipes and a piece of essential kitchen equipment, such as measuring cups and spoons, colanders, cutting boards, etc. the purpose of the kits is not only to feed people, but to teach them how to cook and make the most of the staples, fresh produce, and proteins available. We also create Care Packages for seniors and others in need who do not qualify for Meals on Wheels or are experiencing food insecurity but may not have the ability or resources to cook. These kits include cereal, protein bars, soup, macaroni and cheese cups, oatmeal, etc. These are also being distributed to local food pantries, town offices, police agencies, and the York County Agency on Aging.
