Description

The Volusia/Flagler Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) will welcome Dr. Matt Wilson as the guest speaker at their December professional development luncheon for a presentation on Philanthropy and Public Relations. Dr. Wilson will discuss how bridging philanthropy and public relations can drive organizational success. This meeting will be held on Thursday, December 15 at 11:30 a.m. in the Dennis McGee Room at the Daytona Beach International Airport. Matt Wilson, Ed. D., is a member of the Athletes First Initiative (AFI) leadership team. AFI’s purpose is to build out Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) Collectives supporting intercollegiate student-athletes at Division I, II, and III universities. Currently, Wilson serves as Executive Director of the Hatters Collective Group, a collective group supporting Stetson University student-athletes with the ability to leverage their NIL opportunities. Prior to his current role, Wilson spent the last five years with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) Athletics serving as Senior Director of Philanthropy. During his ERAU tenure, Wilson oversaw a more than a 100% increase in student-athlete scholarship support, assisted in the creation and development of multiple new ERAU Athletic fundraising initiatives (Week of Giving, Hoops & Heels Luncheon; Corporate Challenge Golf Event), and effectively executed multiple six and seven figure naming rights campaigns. Register by noon on December 12 at fpravf.org. Lunch is included in the cost of $30 for members, $40 for non-members, and $15 for students. Walk-ins are accepted for a $5 additional surcharge. About FPRA: With a network of 16 professional chapters and 14 student chapters throughout the state, the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) is dedicated to developing public relations practitioners who, through ethical and standardized practices, enhance the public relations profession.
