Description

Prepare to flow and let go. This class is designed to develop focus, strength, stamina, and flexibility through the use of a variety of standing and seated postures woven together at a slightly slower pace and lighter intensity. This classes instructor, Erin, began practicing yoga as a college student and immediately fell in love with the overall sense of strength and peace she felt after each practice. She hasn’t stopped practicing since. A former elementary school teacher and counselor, Erin has seen firsthand the benefits of yoga for children, which led her to complete her first training with ChildLight Yoga and Mindfulness for Children in 2014. This training led Erin to the realization that her true path in life is to share the transformative practices of yoga and mindfulness with all people. From that point forward Erin has dedicated herself to the study of these practices, helping her deepen the foundation from which she can teach and grow. She currently holds her RYT-500 and RCYT certifications and has trained in prenatal yoga. In 2020, Erin published her first children’s book, A Bear’s Guide to Yoga, to help families integrate yoga and mindfulness into their everyday lives. Outside of the studio, Erin is a licensed professional counselor, as well as an adjunct faculty member in the graduate School of Education at Loyola University Maryland. When Erin is not teaching, practicing, or learning, you can find her sailing, paddleboarding, reading, sewing, and spending time with her husband and two sons.
