Tonya will be featured at a book signing event at the Sutter Theater Center for the Arts
on Saturday, December 3 at 11am. Come out and “meet the author.”
Yuba City resident, Tonya Flores, has recently published a whole collection of books (7) for kids featuring an adorable pair of “super cute super puppies” named Zuko and Allie Puff. The books cover the 3–9-year-old categories. Interesting how so many children’s books for certain ages involve animals as the story tellers and theme conveyors.
The fun and sometimes lofty titles include several that connect with Aristotle’s virtues; Tsunami Trouble: Aristotle’s Virtues-Bravery, and Halloween Rescue: Aristotle’s Virtues-Generosity. Other timely and relevant titles include Ozone Overhaul: Aristotle’s Virtues Truthfulness and Sea Ice and Polar Bears: Aristotle’s Virtues-Confidence that connect with environmental issues as well as virtues. And just for fun there’s New Friends and Superpower Practice.
The books are delightfully illustrated by northern California artist and musician, Darren Drda.
