As environmental injustices and dynamics of major climate change impact communities in Chicago and beyond, what is the role of the field of social work? Join us for a discussion with Cheryl Johnson, the Executive Director of People for Community Recovery, and Amy Krings, a social work scholar focused on advancing environmental justice. Cheryl Johnson will share the historical actions of People for Community Recovery and ongoing projects related to environmental justice, health and mutual aid, affordable housing, and economic improvement. Amy Krings will provide insights into the roles of the field of social work in promoting environmentally just practices and policies.
