Absolutely, everyone has to start somewhere. Many students have never taken a yoga class before coming to this session. Whether you are an experienced Yogi or someone who just wants to explore a more holistic lifestyle, there is space for you. All levels are welcome! I've tried to meditate, and I can't stop my thoughts. How is this any different? Being able to sit silently in deep, trance-like meditation is actually a very advanced practice, and it is definitely not easy! Mantra meditation involves controlling the input to the senses by creating specific vibrations via chanting and by isolating the senses of touch, sight, hearing, and taste all at once. Group chanting allows the practitioner to "tune in" to the sounds all around as well as the subtle vibrations which take place throughout the entire body, which results in brainwave synchronization and leads to a meditative state. This is a great introductory class!
