Purchased some chicks earlier this year.... And truth be told, they all turned out to be roosters :( These were purchased from another homesteader and we really only need 3 (main roo, back up roo and back up back up roo lol) so we have 6 boys seeking homes (we lost 1 out of 10... I'm sure it was a hen LOL!). They are fairly friendly and will tend to jump all over you to perch on you or hassle you for treats. They are now about 8 months old (we kept hoping maybe one would turn into a hen?). From Greenfire farm line. Solid jet black bird with black everything! They do however lay white eggs (except not the roosters lol). $50 each. Picture is just a Google image. They all look the same... Rooster wattles and all... Sigh! If interested please let us know!
