La Gran Posada at the historic Fox Theater Pomona is a live reenactment of the journey of Mary and Joseph took to Bethlehem. With a diverse cast, traditional Mexican songs, colorful costumes, folkloric dancers, and multiple mariachi bands, we bring one of the oldest Christmas stories to life. This is a free community event that features Pomona's theatrical and musical talent, and a variety of traditional Mexican holiday food and drinks. In this immersive performance, the audience also plays an important role, acting as pastores, or shepherds, that are led by an angel through the theater to ask for shelter. When Mary and Joseph are finally given a place to welcome baby Jesus, timeless dance routines and songs bring everybody together in celebration.
