The Headliners Memphis is a grassroots organization created to holistically empower Memphis LGBTQ+ communities of color through HIV awareness, advocacy, entertainment, mobilization, and education. As a coalition, our vision is to positively transform a world without stigma. With this vision in mind, in 2017, Trans Girls Rock! was created. The idea for this event is to honor and acknowledge Black transgender women for their many accomplishments in advocacy, entrepreneurship, entertainment, mentorship, and community involvement aside from all negativity and violence placed upon this community. This event is the first of its kind and created for and by Black Transgender Women. Since its inception, we have had the pleasure of awarding Trans identifying and Gender Non-conforming (GNC) individuals from all over.
