They offer paid training and are committed to promoting from within. Position available immediately. Apply today! JOB FUNCTIONS (Cook): 1. Assist supervisor with maintaining high standards of control for quality food production and service. 2. Provide nutritionally adequate meals meeting Federal Child Nutrition Program meal patterns and dietary standards, while adhering to planned menus. 3. Follow operational procedures for efficient and effective food production and service. 4. Assist supervisor with food and supplies requisition as needed, check the cost and quality of items received, and insures proper storage. 5. Follow Department procedure for inventorying food, supplies and equipment. 6. Maintain an environment conducive to protecting the health and well-being of the facility's juveniles through high levels of food safety and sanitation standards. 7. Follow Federal and State safety and sanitation procedures. 8. Maintain a safe facility for performance of work. 9. Obtain and maintain Food Safety Certification as well as attend any other meetings and/or training as indicated. 10. Assist supervisor with maintaining integrity and accountability of the facility Child Nutrition Program through compliance with all federal and state regulations and Department Child Nutrition policies 11. Assist supervisor with ensuring compliance with Child Nutrition Wellness Program as well as being a committee member of the Child Nutrition Wellness Program. 12. Assist supervisor with maintaining required records (production records, HACCP binders), reports (SFS-4 School Record of Daily Meal Participation) and inventories in compliance with federal and state regulations. 13. Properly uses and cares for all equipment. 14. Perform all duties and responsibilities in an ethical and professional manner. 15. Communicate positively with facility staff, students, as well as food service staff. 16. An employee in this position may be subject to extreme heat in the kitchen and storage area due to the air conditioning not working as well in the heated environment and may be exposed to various physical conditions such as exposure to hot water, electrical current, gas, cleaning chemicals, and hot food. 17. An employee in this position should be able to use their hands, wrists, and fingers repetitively as well as be able to bend lift, carry, and move stock that may weigh 25-50 pounds. The successful applicant/employee must be able to perform ALL of the above functions and at a pace and level of performance consistent with the actual job performance requirements.
