Description
Hello!
This posting is looking for a driver for our 26 ft box truck. This is a OTR (over the road) position and you will b asked to stay over for 10-14 days at a time. That will be followed by a break. This job will take you across multiple states and regions.
- This position requires a Driver's License. This is non-cdl.
- Driver is responsible for shipping freight in a timely manner. Most of the freight will be no touch. Any driver assisted loads will come with driver's assistance pay. This will go straight to the driver.
- Experience driving OTR in a box truck is a plus but not required.
- You will need to learn how to use an ELD for logging hours. This requires a cell phone and/or tablet if you prefer.
- Timeliness is everything and patience is required. Knowing how to maximize your drivetime. This is part of the trucking industry, so there will be moments where you will have to sit and wait. Maximizing your time means showing up to locations early and not just on time.
- Communication is very important. Driver is responsible for communicating with the dispatch and owner when needed. Allowing tracking on your orders will be required on all loads that ask.
- This is a 1099 position meaning you will be required to pay your own taxes.
- Pay will be discussed on either a percentage or flat rate.
- Company will cover all fuel costs.
- Driver will be required to have an active DOT physical and a clean driving record. This means no major accidents or infractions.
This is a great opportunity for someone who is willing to put the time behind the wheel and enjoy the roads of our country. Majority of your time spent will be driving, it is not labor instensive, only on driver assisted loads. If you enjoy being on the road, we look forward to hearing from you.
