We are dedicated to improving the lives of families and children in the Amador, El Dorado, Placer, Sacramento and Yolo counties. Volunteer Opportunity: Would you like to learn how to do your own taxes for free and help your community? Are you a professional who needs CE credits? This is the opportunity for you! No tax experience required. We are the United Way Ca Capital Region Free Tax Prep Program we help community members get free but quality tax service throughout tax season. Last year our volunteers got our community members who make under $66k annually approx $9million dollars in refunds. We are seeking volunteers who will be committed to 5 Saturday trainings (they are recorded if you are unable to make it to one or two) throughout November and December through zoom. During holidays we will not have trainings. After which you will be asked to be IRS certified online (no cost). You will then be able to prepare basic taxes for your community members throughout the tax season. We have in person, and virtual volunteer opportunities and give CE credits to professionals that need them. We provide all training, resources and live help for free.
