Project Connect Healing and Wellness Cohort is a small group for survivors and those affected by interpersonal violence. Focusing on healing, wellness, getting free and staying free. On Thursday August 4, 2022 at 6pm the The Family Justice Center is welcoming it's clients to the center to learn more about the Cohort, meet the facilitators and team, connect with other community members, survivors and those affected by interpersonal violence as they enjoy refreshments & music. This evening will be lead into this mindful & creative activity by the Family Justices Center's Community Fellow Alums Ms. Janell Coleman and Ms. Karla Woods. Creating dream trees or vision boards can be a healing experience as well and preventative tool. The facilitators will take time to support and guide clients/ community members through this experience. All materials will be provided. Clients / community members are welcome to bring any materials they would like to aid them in this project. This Cohort is a program of the Family Justice Center and it's the first Cohort for English Speakers. This group meets every second Wednesday of the month at 6:30pm-7:30pm virtually. These meetings are to provide education as it is the key to invoke internal change and reflection, provide tools and strategies to manage stress and difficult situations as well as providing empowerment to aid members to work towards positive change in their surroundings. Through this cohort members will gain tangible skills and increase a better sense of agency and self-efficacy, build community & share resources. Everyone is encouraged to take a COVID test prior to attending and wear mask. The Family Justice Center will have test, hand sanitizer and masks on site if needed. Test can be picked up prior to the event. Parking is available. Children are welcome to attend with parent/ guardian supervision. For more information: Ms. L.
