TEMECULA, CA — A woman killed in an early morning crash over the weekend in Temecula has been identified by the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner's Bureau as a 67-year-old Hemet resident.
Leticia Sandoval died at the crash scene around 4 a.m. Saturday at the Rancho California Road and Margarita Road intersection, according to the coroner's report.
Riverside County Sheriff's Sgt. Edward Soto reported that two vehicles collided at the intersection and Sandoval was a passenger in one of them.
"The preliminary investigation revealed one of the vehicles was travelling east on Rancho California Road when it broadsided a vehicle within the intersection travelling south on Margarita Road," Soto reported.
It's not clear which vehicle Sandoval was in.
Both drivers were transported to local hospitals for follow-up medical treatment, according to Soto.
"Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this incident. No arrests have been made," Soto said.
The sheriff's department is continuing the investigation into the fatal crash.
