Look at the Craigslist listings. No new bands getting started. The same old ads. No new posts. Covid is mostly behind us now. Where is everybody? No one willing to put in the work and actually LEARN some NEW songs? If I had a dollar for every time I heard, “I didn’t even pick up my guitar since the last time we played” I’d have like, twenty dollars. “Yeah I can tell” I always reply. Too many “players” hung up on themselves and can’t stop with the “me me me” bullshit with endless stories about people I don’t even know. While I am a gear nut, I don't want to hear endless details on your rig. Shut up and play. Nobody who can just learn 3 new tunes every two weeks and follow through and polish them until they’re tight? Just amazed at the lackadaisical approach this area has. No communication. No honesty. Amazed at how people pigeon hole themselves into one genre. There’s no appreciation of other music styles other than “metal” or “country” or “classic rock” or whatever label you’ve given yourself. Are there no multi instrumentalists out there? No guitarists that could drum or play bass too? Bitter? Sure as fck am. Ready to give up….Fck no. What do you think? Disagree? Go ahead let me have it.
