Free Summer Lunches Available For Kids In Temecula

TEMECULA, CA — A federal program designed to ensure children have access to lunch — even when school is out for the summer — will get underway again this year in Temecula, the city announced. The Temecula Community Services Department's Human Services Division will provide free lunches and enrichment activities to kids 18 and under at the annual Summer Food Service Program. Lunches will be served at the Michael "Mike" Naggar Community Park (29119 Margarita Road) every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday June 21 through August 4. The lunches will be available from 11 a.m. until noon, or until meals are gone. Lunches will be served on a first-come, first-serve basis. There are no income requirements and no registration is needed to partake in the program. In addition to children 18 and under, adults with disabilities may come to eat. Parent supervision is required. Meals are not intended for organized programs or private organizations. Each year, the U.S. Department of Agriculture partners with local organizations like the city of Temecula to provide free meals to children when school is out for the summer.
