Smoke Due To North Palm Springs Trash Fire

NORTH PALM SPRINGS, CA — A refuse fire in North Palm Springs was being wind-driven Monday evening, but crews were getting a handle on the incident. The blaze was reported around 6 p.m. in the 66900 block of 20th Avenue. According to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department, the 4-acre fire was burning trash piles and brush, with some areas as deep as 6 to 7 feet. No injuries were reported. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
