Press release from the Alameda County District Attorney's Office: June 3, 2022 On May 24, 2022, a jury found defendant Omar Jimenez guilty of first-degree residential robbery with personal use of a firearm and infliction of great bodily injury. On October 19, 2019, at 4:20 a.m. officers were called to the scene of an assault on 3rd Avenue in Oakland. The victim indicated that while he was sleeping, two masked men with handguns broke into his home and struck him multiple times in the face and body with their guns and their fists. The men demanded money and ransacked the victim's home. The victim, who is deaf and mute, escaped and ran to a nearby convenience store. He was taken to the hospital and treated for a broken nose and a concussion. This press release was produced by the Alameda County District Attorney's Office.
