THERMAL, CA — A brush fire in Thermal had charred at least 60 acres and was 10 percent contained by Sunday morning, fire officials said. The fire was reported at 11:15 p.m. Saturday in an area with heavily dried brush, according to the Riverside County Fire Department. The blaze closed Avenue 62 between Monroe and Jackson streets and power was interrupted for about 20 residents. Crews will remain on the scene to suppress the blaze. No injuries have been reported.
