Hello every one, I am new to Ojai and will be available mid June. I am looking for like minded musicians in the vein of Folk, Americana, Country, Ambient, Cosmic, Pop Blues, or??? Aside from laying low these past few years, I have about 10 years of touring, recording, and running sound under my hat. I play electric and acoustic guitar and have played bass in a few different bands. Have always sang harmony or lead. Mostly I am looking for opportunities to play pedal steel guitar. I picked it up a few years ago and cannot stop. More importantly I’m hoping to make musical friends and future colleagues. Although Pedal steel is strongly associated with country music it is extremely versatile. Once you pick up on what it is and how it sounds you’ll start hearing it everywhere in every genre. I am not a classic country player. Maybe one day I’ll get a pair of boots. I am willing to start a group or join an existing one. Any kind of line up. I aim to serve the song and have fun. I love covers but would really like to be playing someones original music too. A mixture of both would be great. I expect you(‘all) to be a strong singer or player. I don’t need you to be a shredder or have the range of Freddie Mercury. Just please be efficient at your craft and respectful of our time. No drugs or alcohol during rehearsals or on stage. I don’t mind light drinking on stage, so long as you know how to be professional about it. I would like to gig and/or record in the future. Not opposed to playing the Hollywood Bowl, but mostly wanting to have professional hobby that supports itself and a little extra. I am male, mid 30's, and friendly. Please feel free to write and ask questions or just talk music! Please include recordings of your self, and I will do the same. Even if it's a phone recording. Mine will be.
