Oakland Carnival is Northern California's premier Caribbean Carnival! After 3 years of the pandemic, Oakland Carnival brings culture, community, and wellness back to Mosswood Park on the first Saturday in June! Oakland Carnival is Northern California's premier Caribbean Carnival. Always the first Saturday in June, Oakland Carnival's unique inclusion of Caribbean, African, Brazilian, and African American cultures makes it the perfect family-friendly showcase of local and international talent, art, food, and music. After 3 years, Oakland Carnival returns to Mosswood Park! The 2022 Oakland Carnival Festival will feature multiple curated stages and activity zones repping for the culture, the community, and our wellness: Carijama Vibes hosted by Tropic Soul Bay AreaLatin Zone hosted by Kulcha Latino Axé Wellness Dance & Drum hosted by Diamano Coura, SambaFunk!, and more! Youth Zone sponsored by Higher GroundInternational Food VendorsAfrican Marketplace WE'RE LOOKING FOR VENDORS! We're looking for local talent to join the program for each of the three staging areas: Carijama Vibes hosted by Tropic Soul Bay AreaLatin Zone hosted by Kulcha Latino Axé Wellness Dance & Drum hosted by Diamano Coura, SambaFunk!, and more! It could be a class, a youth performance, a group performance, or more! The Oakland Carnival Committee is a joint partnership of local arts organizations led by SambaFunk!, a 501(c)(30 tax-exempt arts organization with the support of the City of Oakland's Mayor Libby Schaaff, San Francisco Foundation, Akonadi Foundation, California Arts Council, and multiple local community members
